Aksel Rønning Trio

Aksel Rønning Trio is a jazz trio based in Oslo,  Norway, formed in 2019. The band consists of saxophonist Aksel Rønning, bassist Eskild  Okkenhaug, and drummer August Glännestrand.

Their music has been described as a meeting  point between Scandinavian jazz traditions and  modern improvisational freedom. Drawing comparisons to Jan Garbarek Trio and Petter Eldh, they also appeal to fans of Sam Gendel and Chris Speed, blending atmospheric melodies with intricate rhythms and dynamic interplay.

In 2026, Aksel Rønning Trio will release their fourth album, Accidents, exploring new sonic territories while staying true to their signature style.
